Description
Aaron Huey, PERIMETER 061 (30 million blocks corner), 44 second video, 3840 × 2160, 2022. At around 30,000,000 blocks out in a MineCraft server (that contains the first DAO controlled National Park) the world “ends” and users can’t travel beyond an infinite up/down perimeter. Once I found the corner of this Minecraft world and using the “god powers” (admin) I could pass beyond the edge where no users can go. The world builder himself has not been here, he offered these theoretical coordinates for me to teleport to when I asked him how to find the end of the world. Some coordinates were pure void and the seed had stopped forming landscape. We tried several formulas until I found the edge and was lucky enough to find a corner. As I travelled beyond this perimeter fence the landscape and features formed infront of me as I travelled , being generated by the seed of the world. This scene had never been seen by the world builder or any user. The corner of this particular Minecraft server world also contains a glitch that leans the wall at points and creates smaller sub - corners. The theory for the world builder is that it is being stretched and “broken” by the increase in block count! (filmed in MUSE Oraia)
