Description
I created an emulator to run pinball machines (Williams/Bally) in your browser (https://playfield.dev/). I use this emulator to visualize how the machine works. This art print shows the status of the condition code register of the CPU for the first 4.14 seconds. Condition codes are extra bits kept by a processor that summarize the results of an operation and that affect the execution of later instructions. The print shows only changed condition code states and ignores repeated patterns to make the output more interesting. This uncovers the inner working of the machine and at the same time it reveals its concealed but unique pattern to the world. Code that was written 30 years ago is used as a source to build a new, interesting representation of the machine.
